Kingston is a town located in Plymouth County, Massachusetts. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 11,780.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 52.8 km2 (20.4 mi2). 48.0 km2 (18.5 mi2) of it is land and 4.8 km2 (1.9 mi2) of it is water. The total area is 9.12% water. The Jones River source and mouth are both in Kingston.
Originally the north precinct of the town of Plymouth, Kingston was first settled in 1620 and was officially incorporated as a distinct town in 1726 following a tax dispute between the residents of north and south Plymouth. Kingston is home of the longest continuously run boat yard in North America. The Revolutionary War era brig (tall ship) "Independence" was built by Kingston ship builders.
